Joining the Lab

As a PhD student

To join our lab as a PhD student, you have to be admitted in the  Brown Engineering Graduate School. You may also manifest the interest to a specific area in your application and you will be contacted (and probably interviewed) by one of the professors from LEMS.

As a Master’s student

To join our lab as a master’s student, you have to be admitted in the  Brown Engineering Graduate School, and look for an advisor from our lab when you feel it is the moment to invest on research.

As an undergraduate intern

It’s common in LEMS to have paid undergrad internships during summer. The interns can be Brown students or not. We recently started offering undergrad internships during the academic year (which are not paid), which are a nice opportunity for undergraduates to have a lab experience and decide if they should go to grad school afterwards. You should contact or be contacted by people from LEMS to see if there are open positions.

As a Postdoctoral Researcher (post-doc)

Most of our post-docs are former grad students or foreign partners sponsored by agencies from their home countries. To work at LEMS as a post-doc, as for the other positions, you must have established a professional bond with one of the professors from LEMS.
